SafeTouch participated in TERMIS-AM (Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine International Society – Americas Chapter) in Detroit, Michigan, on November 9–12, 2025. The event is a leading forum for advances in tissue engineering, biomaterials, regenerative medicine, and health technologies.
Our team showcased the poster “Next-generation Self-Disinfecting Microfilms for Infection Control,” introducing the iSafeTouch (iST) concept and summarising laboratory methodology and early proofs-of-concept. The work outlined:
- The design of ultra-thin, electronically heated microfilms for rapid, on-surface pathogen inactivation
- Proof-of-concept integrations on high-touch interfaces (e.g., door handles and light switches)
- Plans for in-vitro antimicrobial efficacy and safety assessments, and remote monitoring via a mobile application
Participation in TERMIS-AM provided a valuable opportunity to disseminate SafeTouch technologies, collect constructive feedback from clinicians and researchers, and build connections across the biomaterials and health-tech community.
